Just did my first ever cold call. It’s strange–I’m a general manager of an industrial sales business and have done cold calls 100s of times. But this one really got me feeling jittery, I had the number typed and ready to be dial for about 5 minutes. I had to tell myself “stop psyching yourself out and just call the number already” pressed call and BOOM! “This number is no longer in service” hahahahahThat was a great experience for me, I think that genuinely helped me get over the fear of actually placing the call. My hands were shaking but man did that make me feel alive. I know it’ll be tough out here in NJ but instead of allowing myself to talk myself out of it I just did what I know I have to do.I’m working on getting the email, social media and website down-pat, but doing the hardest part and cold calling really made me feel much more confident that we can all do this–you just HAVE to do it!
